End of Term Fun – Happy Christmas 2020
Well done to the Student Council who went to great lengths to organise fun activities for our end of term yesterday. Family Fortunes, Kahoot quizzes and raffles were all organised and ran by them and provided lots of fun and prizes to end the term. Unfortunately, our usual gathering in the auditorium for Carols, prayer service and Bingo couldn’t take place due to Covid restrictions but thanks to the efforts of many of our school community we were able to have an enjoyable day to mark the end of a long hard term.
Thanks to the Religion and Music departments for organising our Christmas Carol and Prayer Service which was prerecorded and played to all classrooms and also huge thanks to the Student Council and the TYs who went to great lengths to ensure our school was decorated beautifully and in festive cheer for the past few weeks.
I would also like to congratulate and thank the student and staff body for the efforts they have made to keep COVID in-check in our school since August. Your continued cooperation and efforts are greatly appreciated by all in Dunmore CS and the wider community.
I would also like to thank you all for the resilience and support you have all offered each other since October. It has been a very difficult few months for our school community, one where we relied on each other for help, friendship and support. I encourage all students to please continue this with each other over the Christmas break and to reach out to parents/guardians/DCS staff or appropriate services if they need extra support. Please remember Pages 25 & 26 of your Journal for relevant supports.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students, staff, parents/guardians, past students and the wider community of Dunmore Community School a Happy Christmas and a healthy and peaceful 2021.
DQuinn.
