Planet Youth Ireland Leisurecard scheme Update
In case you missed the important webinar recently about Planet Youth, the Icelandic Leisurecard scheme, and the huge impact the scheme has had on a whole generation’s health and wellbeing in Iceland it is available online to view; on YouTube at https://youtu.be/1-0FbhAB4z8 also at https://planetyouth.ie/fristund-is-webinar/.
We are very hopeful that this scheme will be coming to the West of Ireland shortly, as a pilot for the country, and it represents a great opportunity for our children and our communities.
We encourage you to look at the end of the webinar from 48.13 and then go back over it later in full if you’re interested in learning more.
This scheme is being brought to cabinet by Anne Rabbitte TD shortly, and she is also advocating for it across several government departments in order to secure the necessary funding for a full-scale implementation here. The intention is to get a properly funded 3-year pilot Leisurecard scheme for Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
